Working at Storyybrook
Culture and Benefits
All staff at Storyybrook School are supported in becoming experts in their chosen pathway, whether that be SEN or SEMH, teaching, therapy or in leading personal development activities. Dedicated time is scheduled each week for CPD. We are a well-resourced school, with time set aside daily for staff to reflect, collaborate and support each other to constantly evolve our unique curriculum offer. With a move away from formal lesson observations and a more collaborative approach to whole curriculum development, we are constantly striving for the best for our pupils and want to explore innovative ways to achieve this.
We aim to develop and utilise the skills of our team and empower them, creating a dream team of passionate, empathetic and creative professionals who want to redefine what is meant by “education”.
Staff at Storyybrook are trusted and encouraged to be innovative and have the autonomy of teaching in a way they believe will get the best from their students, whether that be chalk and talk, through games, practical activities or sitting in the orchard. You will have support from Speech and Language therapists and Occupational Therapists to help meet the needs of your pupils and also support from Senior Leaders to ensure you have the resources, time and training to be the best teacher you can be.
We appreciate the skill, patience and commitment required to work in a specialist SEMH school, which is why we ensure staff have a positive work-life balance and a workplace that is relaxed, supportive and is a fun place to work. Teaching resources and generous PPA time is provided to ensure staff do not need to spend family time preparing for activities and lessons. With opportunities for career progression and flexible working arrangements, Storyybrook is an attractive place to work regardless of your career ambitions or family commitments.
